Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals straightforward and simple cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell has worked in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and geography. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell was born in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful experience. I was unable to learn enough, didn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduation, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. During her time in Italy she grew to truly comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian food and culture that made a lasting impression from a culinary perspective. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to enhance living conditions for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about childhood diabetes. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she is on the road to talk about her love of cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef.
